Letters to and from Haroon Siddiqui

A letter I wrote to Mr. Haroon Siddiqui at the Toronto (Red) Star yesterday after word of the arrests of terrorists in Toronto broke.


Dear Mr. Siddiqui:

I'm looking forward to hearing you justify the terrorist plots against Canada in your next article. You have long been an apologist for terror, i.e. saying Hamas has more legitimacy than Kadima, and I'm guessing you'll blame the terrorist plot on disenchantment with society, poverty, parental abuse, and any other excuse you can make. You'll also try to convince your readers that there really is no threat, in fact the true threat is America who exerts its power throughout the world.But perhaps, you may be awakened by the fact that there are many Muslim extremists and sympathizers who want to destroy freedom and human rights to impose Sharia and oppression throughout the world.

I doubt it, but just maybe. The scope of the horror these people planned to commit is frightening, with 3 tons of ammonium nitrate being purchased and held by the terrorists. Just try to imagine that Israel must deal with such threats every day, and has for decades. Its not just a matter of the powerful against the week, its about the democracies against terror, freedom versus oppression, and indeed good versus evil. I know the you and your comrades on the left despise such black and white language, but the failure to call a spade a spade results in more violence and more death. History taught us that in the battle against the Nazis and Communists.

However, I'll bet that you'll blame these plots on the fact that Canada is supporting our ally and best friend, the US, in Afghanistan. Its always America's fault after all, your nobel laureate friends say so.
