Bin Laden Pops Up

A new video tape has emerged which might show a new image of Osama Bin Laden. It genuine, it would be the first new footage of the notorious terrorist in years. The American intelligence community is busy analyzing the tape for clues or coded messages which might be used to signal attacks against American interests.

"He came up on this occasion to prove he's alive, to taunt us and to take advantage of the 9/11 remembrance ceremonies to get some propaganda," former security official Dick Clarke said.(link)

There have been rumors that Al Qaeda is trying to carry out an attack on the 9/11 anniversary this year. That Bin Laden is still alive and free is of great frustration to the Bush administration and many average Americans who want him dead or captured. Bin Laden's message may be an encouragement to suicide bombers or potential sympathizers in the US to carry out attacks against civilians.

Bin Laden is now 50 years old and suffers from health problems. Despite his physically weaknesses, he remains the leader and figurehead to Islamic fascists around the world and a role model for jihadists eager for martyrdom.
