Fred Thompson Announces, Finally

Fred Thompson finally announced his entry into the GOP primary on Jay Leno last night. Instead of participating in the GOP debate in New Hampshire, Thompson opted for a late night talk show. Thompson already has campaign commercials appearing on TV today, the day after his announcement.

Some have criticized Thompson for waiting too long to officially announce. He has also had to deal with concerns that his wife is micromanaging his campaign. Despite the hype over "Fred", he has yet to announce any bold policy positions or solutions for America's problems. Nevertheless, he is supported by many staunch conservatives who believe he best reflects the values of the GOP base.
