Britain should be mighty proud of Prince Harry. It has been revealed that he is fighting on the front lines with his fellow soldiers in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban and Al Qaida and has been for three months. Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Prince Harry has been an “exemplary” soldier, adding: “The whole of Britain will be proud of the outstanding service he is giving.”(link)Harry is showing his country and the world what patriotism looks like. For someone of his upbringing to risk all to serve his country is tremendous. He easily could have weaseled out of service or chosen to shake hands in pomp and circumstance around the world in glamorous hotels, but instead has picked up a rifle, stood his post, and helped play a role in bringing an end to Islamic fascism in a distant corner of the globe.
I'm honoured to be part of the British Commonwealth with a Prince like Harry in the monarch. God save the Queen, God save Prince Harry.
