A Palestinian gunman opened fire at a Jerusalem yeshiva killing 8 students and wounding 11. "The 8:45 p.m. shooting at Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood broke a two-year lull in terror in the capital and sent students scurrying for cover from a hail of gunfire - a reported 500-600 bullets - that lasted for several minutes."(source)
An IDF officer, hearing the gunfire, made for the scene and ended up killing the terrorist. Palestinians have been celebrating since the attack, as usual hailing the murderer as a martyr and a hero. However, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack and stated, "The president condemns all attacks that target civilians, whether they are Palestinian or Israeli."
The religion of peace strikes again.

Some have stated that the first person to shoot the intruder was an OFF-DUTY military person who was carrying a concealed weapon, under a permit, and was a student at that school. Those persons have claimed that this is being covered up by the anti-gun forces in the USA who do not want this to be an example for gun carrying students to prevent Virginia Tech or Northern U. like killings.
