Final Presidential Debate Thoughts

Well if you had any doubt whether Obama was an outright socialist, the junior senator from Illinois answered that question tonight. Obama's solution to everything is government, not unlike Stephane Dion, Jack Layton, or Gordon Brown. In fact, I think Karl Marx had similar solutions, state planning solves all...

Obama's health care plan was as complicated as nuclear fusion, I have no idea who gets what or how much, except the government basically runs it. That's all I need to know.

Most important, Obama can now be known as America's Robin Hood. Taxpayers can sleep peacefully knowing that Obamessiah will happily redistribute wealth in America in an unbiased and benevolent fashion. First on the list: Acorn, followed by the now unemployed former works from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Jaime Gorelick and Frank Raines.

McCain was pretty good in his performance, he finally hammered Obama on Ayers and some other sketchy relationships in Obama's past which he refuses to come clean on. I thought it was McCain's best performance thus far in the election, and he needed to do well in light of recent poll numbers.

The more I see Obama however, the more nervous he makes me. This guy has no clue about the economy, no clue about foreign policy, and a history that no one really knows about. His entire life is veiled in secrecy and misdirection and he can't point to one single accomplishment in his life. It is frightening to think that Obama is so close to the Presidency, a man who wants to gut the military, retreat in the face of terrorists, and impose a socialistic ideology on America.

Just look at Obama's so called "tax cuts". He is not proposing cutting any one's actual tax rate, he is proposing TAX CREDITS, to be be doled out by the government to those "eligible" individuals. Obama, as is his character, is merely proposing a giant welfare program to redistribute wealth, as he previously promised Joe the famous plumber, to those he deems worthy. Perhaps Obama can create an Ministry of Truth while he's at it, and he just might with the Fairness Doctrine.

McCain is right that the solution is not government to most of the problems facing America. If anything, the recent financial crisis has proven that government causes far more problems than it solves. That should be reason enough not to vote for Barack Obama.

But, unfortunately, it looks like it is a done deal.

I don't think that it will take long for the buyer's remorse to set in, but barring a 180 degree turn in what BHO seems to be about - big government, tax the rich and control and crush criticism and dissent - I don't think that the reign of the One will be all that pleasant.

I hadn't heard that he was going to natioanlize your healthcare system. Until then, he's well to the right of every Canadian politician - even Stephen Harper - so you can stop with the fear-mongering nonsense.

Why do you oppose his redistribution of wealth but not George Bush's? Is it okay to redistribute wealth as long as it only gets moved to the wealthy from the poor?

And surrendering to terrorists? Give us all a break. Which terrorists? He wants to spend more time chasing Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and meanwhile get out of Iraq - where there are no terrorists.

A little common sense. If you want to argue policy, argue policy. But this fear-mongering really isn't going to convert anyone.

The United States formed on the principal of less government and more power to the individual people. In just over 200 years of history we have been rushing back to that we fought so hard to separate ourselves. Electing BO will bring us back to full circle.
