Are the Polls Shifting?

Admittedly, I thought Obama had the election pretty much wrapped up, but it ain't over til it's over. I still don't see how McCain can really get more electoral votes by Tuesday, but the polls do seem to be shifting in favour of McCain on a national level. Zogby reports, "The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all."

On the other hand, Gallup has Obama ahead 52-41 in it's daily poll as of today. Realclearpolitics has Obama at 50.2 to 43.8 over McCain. But the most accurate poll from 2004, IBD/TIPP has Obama with just a 4 point lead.

News that Obama's aunt is an illegal immigrant and has donated to Obama's campaign won't help the IL senator either. It is illegal to accept campaign contributions from those who don't hold a Green Card or are not citizens. Obama's campaign has come under fire for having very loose credit card rules on for online donations. It is suspected that he may have received millions of dollars in illegal donations from overseas and foreigners.

Obama is denying that he knew his aunt was in the US illegally, but such denials from Obama are common place. He denied being close to Rev. Wright, and being in the church congregation when racist statements were made. He denied being friends with Bill Ayers. He denies being close to Rashid Khalidi and Tony Rezko... you get the picture.

Who should I vote for.
As an independent I have a simple rule.
If the current administration or president is seen to be doing a good job and the country seems to like the direction it's headed...I vote for that party. Why rock the boat, right.
But when the current administration is getting bad reviews...even from his own party...and the country seems to be headed downhill...
I vote for the other party.

So this year I am voting for Obama.

In 4 years, if he has low ratings and the country isn't headed in the right direction...I'll vote for the other guy

So if you are having trouble deciding, just use my simple rule.

That way politicians will know if they screw up...their party gets voted out.

That is a stupid rule because you vote based on the past. Vote based on which person you think will lead the country in the right direction and do waht is best for the people.

That's the only rule you need.
