Goodbye Gun Registry

Canada became a freer country today with the vote to eliminate the gun registry. While the registry may have had good intent, encroachments on individual freedom are always couched in the rationale of "the common good", "safety", or "the collective". However, when the government has all the guns, freedom is gone. Its ironic that both tyranny and liberty come stem from the barrel of gun. The difference between the two depends on who's holding the gun.

In the movie "V" for Vendetta", "V" says that people should never fear the government, the government should fear the people. How true.

And while police advocates like Chief Blair in Toronto (aka Miller's puppet) say that it's a useful crime fighting tool, common sense shows that criminals don't register their guns anyway. There's scant evidence the gun registry stopped any crime at all. Nevertheless, we can be grateful to all the MP's who voted in favour of the private member's bill to abolish the registry.

Bravo.

Some are saying that the Democrats will use the Health Reform Act, in adding stipulations, to ban guns here in the U.S. They will claim that guns are a contributer to poor health.
Though I am not a conspiracy theorist, I can only say that from the past 6 months, this might be not so far fetched.
Gun registry does not control crime, as 98% of guns involved in homicides are un registered, or the SN has been altered.
Gun registration can be looked at in different angles. In some cases it actually solves crimes that have already taken place, due to specific marks indicated on a spent bullet matching a paticular SN.
I dont think our government looks at it like that. I think they use registry as a way of control, information is control.

Finally, maybe the money saved from the gun registered can be better spent on fighting crime instead. Like busting up gangs

I wonder how they will track down stolen guns. Wow, home land security got to be upset. The rich get richer and the poor and struggling honest Americans suffer. I am crippled with parkinsons disease and other health issues, my wife and i are on a fixed income and as a Vietnam Era Veteran (Honorable) I use the Veterans Hospital and V.A. Doctors. I wonder how much longer I will have the use of it, as the liberial politicians have to keep takeing care of the rich who helped them with$ to get them there. How meany dead people do you think voted in the last election? How meany broke the law and voted more than one time? One of the organizations to help them is Acorn. They broke the law, but as usual liberial democrates are above the law it seems. Barack Hussein Obama is NOT playing with a full deck, look at the people he deals with. As for me, i plan to suport and vote for Mike Huckabee, God please let him run again. He plays with a full deck and he is a GOOD Christian. He was a great govener of Arkansas for ten years and we never herd bad things about him, ever. He is a man of good morals. Barack Hussein Obama scares me. There is just something about him that isn't right. This country is in bad need of good leadership.
