Us "deniers" (sic) are having a great few weeks, no doubt. The Globe and Mail, CBC, and other have tried their darndest to cover up the massive scandal involving the Climate Research Unit (CRU) of East Anglia University in the UK.
The facts are these and they are not in dispute: Scientists have manipulated data, laws regarding freedom of information were likely broken, opposing views were purposely suppressed, and data has been destroyed that has been the main evidence of the Earth's supposed increase in temperature.
The politics of global warming have been intertwined with the science (or lack thereof behind it)behind the theory. Science is not supposed to be political, it is supposed to be empirical. But as George Costanza accurately observed, "you can't stop science".
Indeed, there will be far more scrutiny over claims of climate catastrophe that we've become so used to hearing. And just in time too. With Copenhagen looming, the West faces potentially catastrophic taxes and transfers of wealth that will cripple economic productivity, prosperity, and growth. Indeed, Copenhagen could be a massive step in the wrong direction in the drive to alleviate the grip of poverty in many parts of the planet. All for the "hope" of bringing down world temperatures as if the sun has nothing to do with the earth's temperature.
But anyway, I'm still hoping (in Obama like fashion) that one day I'll be able to grow a palm tree in my front yard.

If that someone is me, as far as I am concerned, the jury is still out on this AGW issue. Time will eventually sort it all out and as I may have predicted before, I expect within 5 years, let's say before 2015, that you will have to eat your words (but you can chase them with a beer you pay for yourself).
I think that you should agree to eat your words if the Artic become open to shipping year round.
BTW, I just figure some overly wongheaded zealous scientists did mess with the numbers but I believe overall, climate warming is happening.
CG, you totally owe me and you know it!
However, I'll let you continue in your fantasy that the earth is actually warming for now. Keep in mind, all that temperature data that claimed the earth was warming is essentially corrupted now. The originals are gone and we're now basically starting from scratch.

I don't buy that, "all ... is corrupted". My hairy arse. heh
When it comes time to collect, I expect premium beer, not run of the mill horse piss like Labatts. I want snobby European imports. And more than one. With chicken wings.
BTW, what was so bad about the deleted comment that you had to deleted it? Did the poster agree with me?
Fair enough, I'm not cheap so if by some miracle the polar bears go extinct, I'll pay up. As will you with Boddingtons for me once the climate fraud has been fully exposed. I mean, even John Stewart is mocking the science now, that says a lot to me.
I deleted the comment because it was advertising junk/spam.

No no no, that will take too long. The bet condition is when the Artic is open to year end shipping by 2015. Then you owe me unless that does not happen. The polar bears will adopt, they will have to move in with the grizzly bears, make little grizlars and turn dark.
