Danish Intelligence (known as PET) have broken up a terror plot designed to kill as many people as possile using gunmen to attck the newspaper, Jyllands-Posten daily, that published the infamous "Islamic Cartoons" of Mohammed.
Five terrorists were arrested by PET. Fox reports: "PET said it seized a 44-year-old Tunisian, a 29-year-old Lebanese-born man and a 30-year-old who were living in Sweden and had entered Denmark late Tuesday or early Wednesday. The fourth person detained was a 26-year-old Iraqi asylum-seeker living in Copenhagen."
This terror bust comes soon after the botched attempt to detonate a suicide bomb by a radical Muslim in Sweden.
Kurt Westergaard, who drew one of the infamous cartoons, now has to live under police protection because of multiple threats to his life by Islamists. One such radical broke into his house armed with a knife and an axe not long ago. Fortunately, Westergaard had a "safe room" in his home the protected him and his family.
Westergaard is a hero of free speech, and Denmark should be congratulated on its unflinching dedication to freedom of expression. For each incident like this it, would be wonderful if newspapers around the world re-printed the cartoons in defiance of these murderous thugs.
Long live Kurt Westergaard and long live freedom of speech.
