A tragedy has occurred in Tuscon, AZ and the person who deserves blame is Jared Loughner who committed the act.
However, questions should be raised as to why Sheriff Clarence Dupnik did not provide sufficient protection to Rep. Giffords in light of the known threatening behavior of Loughner.
Why did the Sheriff do nothing? Why was Loughner not questioned, interrogated, or arrested for his threatening language and actions?
Instead of hurling insults and blame at conservatives, Sheriff Dupnik should re-think his police work and the protection of his constituents. Moreover, Dupnik's comments may have even prejudiced this case and the future trial of the accused. Dupnik seems far too concerned with politics and not concerned enough with the facts surrounding this case.

My sympathy to the friends and families of the victims of this horrible act. Regarding the shooter - his access to a firearm, is troublesome. Why was he never charged in all those incidents when the police were called. If he has no record how can you convince the mental health professionals to commit the man for involuntary assessment and treatment. Shame on the Sheriff for not doing his duty. cheers
It was this sheriff that said he would not implement that illegal alien law passed by AZ. I think that in those files of his there is probably some evidence that he ignored taking action against the shooter. He thinks that law is stupid. So, what other laws has he refused to follow because he thinks they are stupid. Was he unaware of the threats made by the shooter, to Gabby, going back to 2007. Wonder if he will resign or run for re-election again.
If nothing else, I hope that this tragedy wakes voters up, and they pay attention to candidates instead of incumbents, on both sides of the border.
